Our Newest Beer with Pink Boots called Pink Daze is Now Available

As stated on their website, Pink Boots Society aims to assist, inspire and encourage women and non-binary individuals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education. They are truly the movers and shakers in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry. Chapter members consist of women and non-binary individuals that own the brewery companies, package the product, design the labels, serve the drinks, write about our industry – and just about everything in between. Most importantly, they teach each other what they know through our own seminar programs, and they help each other advance both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house careers by raising money for educational scholarships.

With many Bosque Brewing Co. chapter members, we’re incredibly excited to support the second of three NM Pink Boots Society Collaboration Brew Day Beers. We have 4pks available at Las Cruces Public House and Telshor. This brew day was hosted by our friends in Las Cruces Ice Box Brewing, who will also be hosting a release party today, April 14, from 5:30-8:30 pm at their Picacho location.

Money raised from this beer supports women and non-binary folks in the fermented beverage industry in NM and beyond. It’s a pleasure to be apart of this initiative.

The Mashing Process and How it Impacts the Overall Body of Finished Beer

Beauty is in the process.

Mashing: The process of mixing the grist with water heated to precise temperatures and ratios. The main focus of mashing is to breakdown starch into fermentable sugars. The volume of water and temperature directly impacts sugar extraction and the overall body of the finished beer. Different mashing processes are used in different parts of the world, depending on your location and traditions, the quality of malt available, the equipment used, and the beer styles brewed.

At Bosque Brewing Co., the water-to-grain ratio and water temperature vary by style. The water-to-grain weight ratio is typically 2 to 3 pounds of water for each pound of grain, and the water temperature is usually between 155-175°F. It typically takes about twenty to thirty minutes to completely finish the mash-in.

At Bosque Brewing Co., we operate the brewhouse Monday through Friday, starting at 6 am and wrapping up at about 10 pm. Each day, on average, the mash mixer will see 6000 - 9000 lbs of milled grains and 1,800 - 3,000 gallons of steamy, hot water.

As Our San Mateo Doors Close, New Journeys Begin

Almost seven years ago, Bosque Brewing Co. poured its first beer at our San Mateo location. Since then, it has grown to four locations throughout New Mexico. Today, we announce that our beloved original location at 8900 San Mateo Blvd. NE in Albuquerque is set to close near the end of March. We plan to build Bosque Open Space Project just up the road from our San Mateo location on Venice and the I-25 frontage road, however at this time we have yet to break ground due to unexpected setbacks and delays.

We would like to express our profound gratitude to every guest who has had a pint with us over the years. You have been a huge part of making Bosque what it is today. As our doors at San Mateo close, a new brewery and distillery will take its place. La Reforma, led by John Gozigian and Jeff Jinnett, will renovate the space. Bosque Brewing Co. will be a silent partner in the brewery.

From here, we ask you to join our coworkers as they begin a new adventure down the street at Restoration Pizza located at 5161 Lang Ave. NE. Restoration Pizza is slated for a late March or early April opening. As the name suggests, we will serve pizza along with Bosque beer in a communal dining setting. What will make Restoration Pizza truly unique is that we will integrate our workforce with differently abled individuals, giving us the opportunity to work with the disabled community. We have worked with the supportive employment community to help properly staff and train this new endeavor.

In the meantime, we hope you will join us as San Mateo goes out with a bang. We are hosting a block party in the taproom, brewery, and parking lot on Saturday, March 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. Our loyal patrons and staff will enjoy Bosque beers accompanied by live music, food trucks, and local vendors. Stay tuned for more information on the closing party.

Once again, thank you for sharing many years of beers and memories with us at San Mateo. Until the Open Space Project opens, you can still visit us at Bosque North in Bernalillo, the Public House in Nob Hill, and in Las Cruces at the Public House and Beer Bar. Cheers!

THE NEW ERA OF BOSQUE STARTS TODAY

The wait is finally over. After a more than six month discovery and development process with Utility Agency, a local branding agency who has now become family to us as a result of this process, we are thrilled to share with you our new logo and staple can line! We are beyond impressed with Utility's design work to get us here, and are so pleased with this fresh and bright direction.

The process at times was grueling, with (what felt like) a million edits back and forth, and very tight deadlines (some that were even missed) that kept many of us up late at night worrying, and working. In the end though, the final product resulted in a world-class can to match the world-class beer that it will hold; making the struggle to arrive here every bit worth it!

Each can design tells the beer's story in a way that pays homage to the many unique elements that make the Land of Enchantment so special to us. From the ever changing skylines, to the vast mountain ranges found throughout our state, to the river that runs through it all... In between the mountains and the water is where you can always find the Bosque.

Beginning in April, these beauties will be gracing retail shelves across all of New Mexico. Additionally, we plan to launch both Open Space Haze and Cider (name TBD) in 12oz. 6-pack formats sometime in May.

Cheers to this new era of Bosque!
