Bosque North Weighs in on #EarthDay

Happy #EarthDay!

Earlier this year, NMSU's Engineering New Mexico Resource Network visited Bosque North Brewery, in Bernalillo, NM to conduct an "E3" assessment.  The goals of this activity were to assess the brewery’s efficiencies in production, materials handling and storage, environmental and energy performance and to provide recommendations for improvement.

See below how we weighed in:

  • Segregating and collecting cardboard, paper and plastic for pick up (8800 lbs/mo) by Road Runner Waste Disposal

  • Waste aluminum cans and ends (~200 lbs/mo) are collected at the canning operation and recycled

  • Some wooden pallets are repaired and reused; broken pallets are disposed as solid waste for a total of 30,000 pounds/year

  • 30-35,000 pounds of saturated grain waste collected weekly by a local rancher

  • -Organic waste (1,120 lbs/mo) from restaurant operation collected for composting by Soilutions

It is our objective to continue working to improve these numbers every month and have a positive impact on our environment and community.
